Jeffrey B. Hedrick, Ph.D., University of Utah Asia
Dr. Jeffrey Hedrick joined the University of Utah Asia in August 2021. He has been teaching journalism & mass communication since 2005. He attended BGSU where he earned a Ph.D. in media studies with cognate interests in constitutional law & new media. He received a Master of Journalism from Temple University, and a B.A. in Public Relations from CSU Dominguez Hills. He is half Japanese and was born in San Diego. His scholarly interests range from constitutional and media law to Internet web design, and he enjoys addressing cultural diversity issues within education and those involving technology. Jeffrey’s eclectic taste in music led him to accumulate several hundred classic rock and R&B/soul CDs, a wide range primarily from the 60s and 70s. His love of music prompted him to DJ at the campus radio station hosting a weekly soul music show.
